Within the forest lies Llyn Llewelyn, a beautiful and peaceful lake which is a great location for an afternoon picnic!!
Beddgelert.
Beddgelert is Snowdonias prettiest village and it nestles at the foot of mount Snowdon. It offers a range of amenities to include a variety of tourist shops, along with pubs, restaurants and cafes.
By the river stands Gelerts grave which lends the village its name. According to a legend tale the stone monument marks the position of the final resting place of Prine Llewelyn's faithful hound GELERT.
Beddgelert is a great starting point for ample walks from relaxing riverside walks to more strenuous hill/mountain walks.
New to the village is a station for The Welsh Highland Railway. You can pop on the train for a day in Porthmadog or to the historic town of Caernarfon.
The village of Llanberis in the Snowdonia National Park is a major tourist attraction and is only three miles from Yr Hen Stabl. Here you will find shops and eating places all with their their own individual characters.
